Keep Your Catch!

The Kona Coast on the Big Island of Hawaii offers some of the finest sportfishing in the world. It sits right on top of a huge ocean drop-off, allowing fishermen easy access to some of the most exciting deep-water gamefish, such as the blue marlin, hebi and ahi tuna.

Keep Your Catch

There is simply no feeling quite like reeling in one of these spectacular gamefish, but many visitors are disappointed to find out that they have to give up their hard-won catch to the charter, rather than keep and cook it up themselves. In fact, it is very unusual for a Hawaiian fishing charter to offer the option to keep your catch. Traditionally, everything caught on a local fishing charter belongs to the captain and crew.

At Ohana Sportfishing Adventures, we know how great it is to keep and eat the fish you worked so hard for, and that’s why we allow you to keep your catch. In fact, if you want to keep and eat your fish, we’ll even be happy to clean and package it for you.

If cooking your fish isn’t what you have in mind, we’ll be happy to help you memorialize your catch-of-a-lifetime, either through Gray Taxidermy for a mount, or if you’d rather, through a famous local artist for a beautiful print that you can take home.

If you’re looking for an opportunity to fish off the Kona coast, you’ll find that there are dozens of charter boats available to choose from. But before you make your choice, take a look at the company’s policies to make sure they’re a good fit for your needs – especially if you plan on keeping your catch.
